Enzo Mari designed the 'Sedia 1' chair back in 1974. Its low-end
materials and 'needs assembly' construction would have made it
affordable for the masses. That was Enzo's intention, but the chair
never went into production...until now that is, thanks to Artek.
HOWEVER, it's that simple construction and materials that makes it
totally diy-able! For more information about the chair and to see
Mr. Mari assemble a Sedia 1, visit Daily Tonic.

Turn a Pallet into a Lounge Chair

IMO, all pallets are waiting to be made into something beautiful,
like this outdoor lounge chair for instance. Simple yet stylish in
its construction, the materials and tools to make one are minimal.
Here they are: Four pallets of the same size, preferably
rectangular One pallet slightly wider than your other pallets, more
square than rectangular Scrap 2x4s or pallet scraps of the 2x4 kind
Hammer and nails For the entire tutorial, visit Re-Nest.
Totally DIYable Concrete and Pole Coat Rack

I am diggin' this coat rack creation by Vytautas Gecas. I'm also
diggin' the fact that the idea is totally DIYable. You could mix up
some concrete and fashion a form with a couple of buckets, maybe
cardboard or even wood, but a visit to yourlocal garden center just
might turn up a suitable substitute for the bottom bit. OR a
container of similar size weighted with said concrete or Plaster of
Paris.... A half a dozen or so dowels or replacement broom handles
later and you're done. Check it out in detail over at Daily Tonic.

Unbeknownst to this unfortunate looking chair, Ryan turned out to
be her fairy godmother. Ryan didn't use a magic wand for this
makeover--just a lot of hard work. Okay, maybe hard work and a
little bibbidi-bobbidi-boo too. You can read more about the
project at DesignSponge.

A waste of good books? Maybe, depending on the titles. Either way,
very creative! A 'book' counter is right at home in this shop:
